Our Why
Rooted Aspen exists because too many mission-driven organizations with incredible intentions fall short—not from lack of heart, but from systems and cultures that don’t fully support their values. It’s heartbreaking to see inspiring visions become just words on a wall, especially when leaders and teams are trying so hard to do good.
Through years of leading, coaching, and working across complex systems, we’ve learned that creating a culture that truly lives out an organization’s values by driving decision-making, day to day interactions, and sustained impact, requires intentionality, discipline, and diligence. It’s hard work and if it isn’t maintained, cultures can drift quickly. That’s why we focus on systems: systems sustain behavior, and behavior sustains culture.
Our background in behavioral science helps us see the connection between behavior and both formal and informal systems . We understand how motivation, structure, and relationships influence what people actually do day to day, and how easily misalignment can lead to frustration, burnout, and disengagement.
But we have also seen what happens when teams get it right: when leaders at every level are empowered, when culture is aligned with values, and when clarity replaces confusion. That’s when culture becomes a living force. That’s when people come alive in their work.
Rooted Aspen exists to make that possible. We want leaders and teams to feel energized, valued, and supported because when work feels more human, people and purpose thrive.
Our Approach
Transformation starts beneath the surface, where organizations are complex and deeply human.
Our approach honors that reality through our three guiding principles.
Interconnected
Culture isn’t created in silos. We take a systems view, recognizing that people, processes, and behaviors are deeply connected. We help you uncover those connections and create alignment across teams, departments, and leadership.
Intentional
Every organization is unique. We don’t offer plug-and-play solutions. Instead, we design strategies with care, ensuring your systems, structures, and practices reflect your values and support your goals.
Rooted
Sustainable change requires depth. We build internal capacity, reinforce values through daily practices, and create cultures that grow and adapt over time. Rooted change is what makes impact last.
